Open Access: Open Access Week

This guide will provide recommendations and assistance in finding information about Open Access.

2017 Open Access Week Activities

Faculty Open Access Award
The purpose of the Open Access Award is to recognize faculty who have made their research open or used open materials in their courses. It is intended to assist faculty when demonstrating the impact of their work. This award is NOT for publisher fees. Apply by October 16, 2017. Award recipients will be announced during Open Access Week.

Ask a Librarian about Open Access
Stop by to ask a librarian about open access once a week in the Croslin room (October 12th from 2-3:30pm) and the Free Speech Areas (October 5th, October 19th, and October 23rd from 10 am-2pm). Graduate Students can also meet with personal librarian, Brian Quinn, Mondays and Tuesdays from 2:00-4:00 pm. in the Graduate Center.

Virtual Upload-A-Thon
Send a citation and accepted version (peer-reviewed, unformatted manuscript) of your most recent article to your personal librarian. The Scholarly Publishing Librarian will look into the policies of the journal and make the deposit for you. It’s 100% copyright compliant, all major publishers already allow this practice, it’s very easy, and you can start to see how greater availability increases the exposure and impact of your work.

Open In Oder To…” Social Media Campaign

Follow TTU Scholarly Publishing on Facebook and Twitter to see real stories of impact every day in October. Open access has made a difference in public health, industry and right here in Raiderland.
