Canon VIXIA HF G21 Quick Start Guide

Step 1  Charge Battery

  1. Connect power cord to power adapter
  2. Plug cord into electrical outlet
  3. Connect power adapter to DC IN terminal

POWER/CHG indicator lights red in color while battery is charging

Charging is complete when the indicator is extinguished

Step 2  Insert Memory Card

  1. Make sure the camera is off.
  2. Open memory card slot cover.
  3. Insert the memory card(s) into the slot(s) with the label facing the front of the camera.
  4. Close the card slot cover.

Step 3  Power on camera

  1. Set the power switch to CAMERA to turn on

Step 4  Record in AUTO mode

  1. Set the lens barrier switch to OPEN.
  2. Set the mode switch to AUTO
  3. Press the START/STOP button to begin recording
  4. Press the START/STOP button again to pause/stop recording

Step 5  Playback

  1. Set the power switch to MEDIA to access video
  2. Look for the scene you want to play back
  3. Touch the desired scene to play it back

 

Step 6 Saving movies to a computer

  1. Power the camcorder using the compact power adapter.
  2. Set the camcorder power switch to MEDIA.
  3. Open the desired movie index screen.
  4. Use the provided USB cable to connect the camcorder to a computer.
  5. On camcorder LCD screen touch [All (for PC only)].
  6. Use the computer to open the camcorder folder and copy the file(s) to your computer.

Step 7  Delete video

  1. Play back the scene to be deleted
  2. Touch the screen to display the playback controls and touch pause VIXIA pause symbol
  3. Touch FUNC
  4. Touch Delete
  5. Touch Yes
  6. Touch OK
