These resources are firsthand evidence typically authored or created by someone who was a contemporary to the event. They often include but not limited to the following:

  • interviews
  • transcripts
  • diaries
  • letters or personal papers        
  • autobiographies
  • photographs
  • historical or government records
  • statistical data (from the time)
