Workshop Description and Objectives

Learn some essential Linux skills like command line with the Makerspace’s Raspberry Pi 400s.

Then explore the world of SBC (Single-Board Computers) and microcontrollers while you interact with sensors and the MakeCode programming language!

Hardware:

  • Raspberry Pi 400
  • Circuit Playground Express

Software/OS:

  • Linux
  • MakeCode

No experience necessary, all ages and skill-levels are welcome!

 

Objectives

  • Learn basic Linux command line vocabulary using the Makerspace's Raspberry Pi 400s.
  • Learn to program a Circuit Playground Express microcontroller board with Microsoft's MakeCode.
  • Utilize sensors, speaker, and Neopixel LEDs to explore a basic game.
  • Educate students on Library Resources for programming.
