Make: Pattern of the Month for October 9/23/23 2-4PM

Join me on this Autumnal Equinox to make a Patchwork frog from meant to make from scraps. Pattern of the Month is a workshop reviewing the pattern, materials necessary, and steps to compelte it. I will demo the pattern, and patrons can choose to stay and sew or come back to the Makerspace at their own time to complete the project. Patrons are encouraged to bring the necesary materials to complete this project which include: scraps to equal 18 x 21 inch rectangle, 1 fat quarter, one 18x21 inch piece of batting, one 32 oz bag of poly pellet (or the equivalent of uncooked rice or deer corn), and buttons for eyes. You can search our scrap bin, and opt for 3D printed buttons for eyes. Great for beginners.

 

Make a Ribbon Skirt Bookmark 9/08/23 12-2PM

 

Join me on this International Literacy Day in making a bookmark as a mini ribbon skirt, a reclamation of identity for indigenous women. A great beginner project.  Materials needed: 2 9"x6" peices of woven fabric, ribbons, thread, scissors, glue stick and a printout of the template.

Sew Sweet: Cappuccino Applique Mug Rug: 11/2/2022 5-7PM

Join me for National Cappucino Day and make a mug rug with a cappucino applique on it. All materials to make this project will be provided, but patrons may provide their own materials if preferred or if attending virtually.

Make a Mug Rug: Don't be Self Conchas (Intermediate) Recorded 9/11/2024 12-2PM

Workshop Recorded September 11, 2024, 1-2PM: Join me in making a mug rug that resembles the beloved colorful, concha cookie topping sweet bread. All materials will be provided for those attending face to face. Feel free to provide your own fabric if you prefer. For those attending virtually, you will need one 8"x 8" woven fabric the color of your cookie topping, two 9" x 9" in a light tan color, one 9" x 9" piece of cottong batting, one 8" x 8" fusing for woven fabrics (optional), and thread color of your choice.

Make Sewing Simple: Machine Basics (Beginner) 9/04/2024 2-4PM

Recorded workshop: Join me in learning how to use a basic domestic sewing machine, loading a bobbin, loading thread, and other functions to begin sewing projects. Patrons will practice sewing different stitches, and practice making a small simple project. This workshop is recommended, but not required for beginners that wish to attend intermediate level sewing workshops. All materials necessary will be provided for those attending in person.

Make a Tea Wallet

Recorded 6/13/2024, 2-4PM: Join me this National Sewing Machine Day an make a tea bag wallet. Come and work on your sewing projects, learn sewing machine basics if you are a beginner, or just come and be inspired to sew something. All materials to make this project will be provided, but patrons may provide their own materials if preferred or if attending virtually.

Make Repairs to Clothing 7/25/2023

Join me on this National Threading the Needle Day in learning how to make repairs to clothing. Bring your perosnal items you wish to repair, alter, or practice on.
