Office of the Dean of Students
The Office of the Dean of Students leads an effort focused on non-academic matters affecting student life, student success, and student learning. Our office is dedicated to encouraging student responsibility and leadership. office is actively involved in issues related to student life at Texas Tech University to help all students achieve their academic and personal pursuits; and supports University Diversity Initiatives to champion the overall TTU student experience.
Programs & Resources
Texas Tech University fraternities and sororities strive for academic excellence and developing the scholastic achievement of their members. To help members succeed academically, fraternities and sororities have well-established scholarship programs. These programs include resources, such as study hall sessions, time management workshops, academics advisors, tutoring programs, and more.
Military & Veterans Programs, MVP, was created in 2010 as a department solely dedicated to helping veterans and their families succeed. MVP’s number one priority is you earning your degree at Texas Tech. As you move towards graduation, MVP is here to help you obtain your Veterans Educational Benefits and assist your transition to campus by connecting you with resources both on campus and in the community.
The RISE office at Texas Tech University is the central office for prevention education and the promotion of well-being at Texas Tech University. The RISE office works to implement evidence-informed and theory-based strategies that are prevention focused, culturally competent and inclusive, and support student success.
SOC is a central place for TTU community to report student behaviors of concern for early intervention, risk assessment and referrals to help promote student success while paying special attention to the safety and security needs of members of the TTU community.
Student Life offers a variety of ways for you to get involved at TTU! You can join a student organization, become a leader on campus, join a fraternity or sorority, attend a leadership workshop, volunteer to give back to the community, and so much more! The Texas Tech Spirit Program is part of the Center for Campus Life office, a division of Student Affairs. The Spirit Squads lead the fans in supporting the teams at football, basketball, and volleyball games. They serve as ambassadors not only at athletic events, but also at many different school and community functions. In additional to our game day role, the members represent Texas Tech on the national stage at competitions.
The Student Counseling Center provides information and resources to support your mental health that are safe, anonymous, and confidential.
The Texas Tech Student Disability Services (SDS) office’s mission is to enhance each student's learning through the provision of programs and services for students with a disability. Their goal is to assist students in attaining their academic, career, and personal goals regardless of any physical, learning, psychological, psychiatric, or other documented disability they may have.
Mission: To strive for honor in the service and protection of the student body of Texas Tech University, through representing their interests by developing personal relationships. In addition, to work diligently to cultivate partnerships with the student body, administration, faculty, staff, and community, to maximize each student's educational and personal growth. The Student Government Association also encourages student involvement and will provide opportunities to develop a lifetime relationship with Texas Tech University for each student and to keep Texas Tech University at the forefront of higher education.
Student Legal Services provides legal advice, counsel and limited representation for currently enrolled students at TTU. Their licensed attorneys can advise and/or represent students in variety of legal areas including, but not limited to: landlord/tenant disputes, expunctions, misdemeanors, name changes, essential needs licenses, and small claims consumer disputes.
Office of LGBTQIA Education & Engagement
The Office of LGBTQIA Education & Engagement serves the Texas Tech University community through facilitation and leadership of programming and advocacy efforts aimed at strengthening the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA) community. The Office also serves as a resource for members of the University community in their practice of 'allyship.'
