Come to the SUB Monday through Wednesday to tell us your #ttutextbookbroke stories, and join SGA for an OER town hall at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6 in the Red Raider Ballroom. Refreshments will be provided!

Open Textbooks at TTU Panel
Texas Tech University Libraries will be partnered with the Teaching, Learning and Professional Development Center to offer an information session and panel. The panel discussion featured faculty at Tech who have written or used open textbooks in their courses.
Affordability Beyond Textbooks: Vendors, Courseware, and Library Resources
This brown bag session expanded the conversation on classroom affordability. This introductory information session was an overview of vendor OER programs, affordable courseware options, and the library resources which are already freely available to faculty and students.
Open Education Week: Are you #textbookbroke?
Textbook prices can be astronomical! Students told us about their textbook prices and learned what theycan do to support the open textbook movement. You can also join the conversation online at #textbookbrokeTTU.
Faculty Workshop Feb. 2 10am -12pm
Faculty who attended the Open Textbook Workshop discovered open textbooks in your field. Jasmine Roberts, Strategic Communications Instructor at the Ohio State University and open textbook author was the guest speaker for this session.
Academic Support Staff Workshop Feb 2. 1:30 -3pm
TTU librarians and academic support learned more about open textbooks and how to make a difference by supporting faculty who are exploring or interested in adopting open textbooks. Michelle Reed, Open Educational Resource Librarian at University of Texas at Arlington was the guest speaker for this session.
