Elsevier Science Direct Negotiations

• Currently the TTU University Libraries provides access to over 2,100 Science Direct ejournals through our core Science Direct subscriptions and the Science Direct Freedom Collection.
• TTU Libraries Science Direct expenditures account for 30% of the Libraries' total journal budget. To put this in perspective with our other ejournal providers:
  • Wiley - 14%
  • Springer/Nature - 11%
  • Sage - 5%
  • Institute of Physics - 2%

One of the Libraries' goals is to provide our users access to a substantial amount of high quality journal content while keeping costs as low as possible.  However, since 2010 TTU Science Direct subscriptions costs have risen significantly for approximately the same number of journals. If the TTU Libraries are unable to meet our goal with a new Elsevier contract (Jan. 2021) we will be unable to provide access to current Science Direct content and must point you to other legal methods of obtaining Elsevier journal articles.
