Requests for Library Input on New Program Proposals and Accreditation

This guide has been created to assist in requesting Library input on New Program and New Degree Proposals or Accreditation needs

Information

Requests for Library input on New Program and New Degree Proposals and Accreditation

Proposals to the THECB made after Sept. 1, 2023 no longer need a letter from the library.

After completing the form in this Guide, a designated Library faculty member will process requests for information needed on new program proposals and accreditation assistance.

The form will ask for the information needed to process the request. This includes:

  • the name of the program
  • documents that explain what is needed
  • the name of the accrediting agency (if applicable)
  • contact information if more information is needed

Next Steps

  • After receiving the request, a designated librarian will be in contact to acknowledge receipt of the request.
  • Please allow up to four weeks for the Libraries to have time to pull together the needed information for new programs. Accreditation requests may take longer depending on the level of detail and amount of information needed.
  • Once the information is gathered and processed, the Libraries will submit a draft letter and other needed documents for feedback from the requestor.
  • The requestor can return the document(s) for any needed changes if necessary.
